Stolen Car, Vehicle Break-Ins Reported: Vienna Crime Report
Stolen vehicle and break-in investigations were among the incidents Vienna Police responded to in the last week.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police investigated a stolen car and several vehicle break-ins over the last week.
The stolen vehicle was reported Thursday in the 1200 block of Ross Drive SW. A resident reported the vehicle was taken after legally parking and locking it in front of his home. Police believe it was taken between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Fairfax County Police recovered the vehicle later that morning.
Vienna Police also recovered a stolen vehicle from Arlington County Thursday. Around 8:06 a.m., an officer was alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 100 Block Patrick Street SE. Vienna Police determined the vehicle was stolen and notified Arlington County Police. The vehicle's owner responded to pick up the vehicle.

1400 Block Cottage Street, SW
Between August 28 8:00 p.m. and August 29 at 10:00 a.m.
A resident reported someone rummaged through his unlocked vehicle that was parked in his driveway. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

Vehicle Tampering 24-009771
300 Block George Street, SW
Between August 28 at 10:00 p.m. and August 29 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported someone rummaged through his vehicle. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

100 Block Patrick Street, SE
Between August 28 at 10:20 p.m. and August 29 at 7:20 a.m. A resident reported someone rummaged through their locked vehicle and stole a rescue hammer.
Vienna Police say the Northern Virginia region has been an increase in vehicle thefts and break-ins. Law enforcement identified a trend of suspects entering the area in stolen vehicles between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. Suspects may rummage through unlocked vehicles and steal vehicles when keys are left inside. When vehicle thefts or break-ins occur, police encourage nearby residents to submit any surveillance footage of the incidents.
Police recommend residents secure their vehicles, take keys inside, close and lock all doors to homes and remain vigilant about suspicious activity. Suspicious activity in the Town of Vienna may be reported to 703-255-6366, or 911 for emergencies.
