Increased Enforcement Of Stop Sign Violations Planned In Vienna
Police are increasing enforcement of stop sign violations and other traffic violations as part of an annual campaign.

VIENNA, VA — Extra enforcement is planned to catch drivers who don't completely stop their vehicles at stop signs in Vienna.
Vienna Police announced Tuesday the start of a stop sign enforcement campaign within the Town of Vienna. Officers will enforce all traffic laws, with an extra focus on stop sign violations. Police will issue citations and remind drivers to come to a complete stop at a stop sign or flashing red light as well as yielding before entering a crosswalk, intersection or stop line. Drivers caught with stop sign or red light violations could face fines and three demerit points on their driver's license.
During a stop sign enforcement campaign last June, Vienna Police issued 236 stop sign citations and 153 other traffic citations.
