VIRGINIA — As September wraps up, there's plenty of family fun for the whole family to enjoy this weekend around Northern Virginia and D.C.
Fall festivities are underway, as well as early Halloween haunts. A few of the fall festivals and Halloween attractions to check out include Pumpkin Village at Leesburg Animal Park, Cox Farms Fall Festival, Reston Farm Garden Market Fall Festival, Braehead Farm Fall Festival, Belvedere Plantation Fall Harvest Festival, Temple Hall Farm Pumpkin Patch, Great Country Farms Corn Maze and Apple Harvest, Cox Farms Fields of Fear and Haunted Hollow.
Other top events in the region this weekend are Occoquan Fall Arts & Crafts Show, Mosaic Fall Festival, Virginia Beer Festival, Leesburg Airshow, Via Colori Stafford Street Painting Festival, Smithsonian Craft2Wear, Manassas Latino Festival, Clarendon Day, and Brentsville Day.

Be sure to check the weather forecast and event status with organizers. Some outdoor events have already announced cancellations on Friday due to the forecast as Tropical Storm Helene brings rain. In D.C. National Weather Service expects showers to continue mainly after 3 p.m. as well as showers and thunderstorms overnight. On Saturday, rain will give way to partly sunny conditions with a high in the 80s and low below 70. A chance of scattered showers returns Saturday night mainly after 8 p.m., and showers could happen Sunday after 2 p.m. and at night.
