All candidates fielded two hours worth of questions from residents last week at a forum put on by the Northeast Vienna Citizens Association (NEVCA).

This week, Patch will run video clips of the candidates talking about local issues, from bus lines and political leanings  to Tysons development and road maintenance.

Today: Tysons was the chief resident concern of the night — specifically, how the town would advocate for itself as the future urban city rises to the east, and whether its growth might mean an expansion of Maple Avenue.

"Tysons is happening," Sienicki said, saying the town couldn't, and shouldn't, fight its growth but instead be involved and advocate as developments come up for approval.

Springsteen said he had a wait and see approach, at least until the Silver Line was up and running, he said.

As for Maple Avenue: All candidates said they didn't see Vienna's main corridor expanding.
