Traffic Advisory: Lane Closures Overnight on I-66
VDOT will be installing "gantries" on I-66 for inside the Beltway tolling operations set to begin this summer, according to VDOT.
VIENNA, VA -- The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled lane closures on I-66 inside the Beltway between Exits 71 (Glebe Road/Fairfax Drive) and 72 (Lee Highway/Spout Run Parkway), from tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 17) at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
There will be two or more 15-minute closures of all lanes in both directions between midnight and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
These closures are needed to safely install the first of eight "gantries" for I-66 inside the Beltway tolling operations. Tolling during peak periods in the peak directions on I-66 inside the Beltway is expected to begin this summer. For more information, visit Transform 66.
