Two Charged After Banging on Vienna Resident's Door in the Middle of the Night: Police

Police arrested two young men for Drunk in Public after they began knocking on the front door of a home at 1:45 a.m., police said.

VIENNA,VA -- Police say two young men were charged for Drunk in Public after they began banging on a Vienna resident's door Sunday, Aug. 28.

The two young men, a 22-year old from Big Rock Road, Md. and a 21-year old from Cedar Lane in Vienna, were arrested after they awoke a resident in the 200 block of Cedar Lane Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1:44 a.m.

Both subjects showed signs of possible impairment, police said. The 22 year old male subject from Big Rock Road, Maryland and 21 year old male subject from Cedar Lane, Vienna, were arrested for drunk in public. Both subjects were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

INCIDENTS
Suspicious Event 16-007303 1200 Block Cottage Street, SW August 25 11:30 p.m. A citizen called to report their friend who appeared distressed left the listed residence and could not be found. Officers searched the area and could not locate the male subject. The friend was informed to call Vienna Police Department if the male subject returned to the residence or 24 hours passed without anyone contacting the male subject.

Domestic Dispute 16-007308 Hillcrest Drive, SW August 26 2:31 a.m. Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and her son. When officers arrived they determined no physical altercation took place, only a verbal argument. Both subjects agreed to stay separated for the remainder of the evening.

Suspicious Event 16-007313 Vienna Elementary School 128 Center Street, South August 26 8:07 a.m.
A citizen reported their vehicle was vandalized the previous day while parked in the parking lot of the listed school. MPO Nelson spoke with the owner of vehicle and they both determined the damage appeared to be unintentional and possibly from landscaping that took place near where the vehicle had been parked.

Police Service 16-007314 Oakmont Court, NE August 26 8:24 p.m. Ofc. Sterling assisted a male subject with getting personal belongings out of the residence he was staying at.

Stolen Vehicle 16-007319 Westwood Country Club 800 Maple Avenue, East August 26 1:02 p.m.
A citizen called to report their vehicle had been stolen from the listed location. MPO Vazquez conducted an investigation and determined the vehicle had been stolen by an elderly male subject suffering from a mental health issue. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner who declined to seek criminal charges against the elderly male subject.

Fraud 16-007321 SunTrust Bank 501 Maple Avenue, East August 26 3:51 p.m. A resident reported they were a victim of fraud. The resident stated someone was fraudulently withdrawing money from their personal checking account.

Suspicious Event 16-007336 Carter Court, SW August 27 9:30 a.m. A resident reported suspicious behavior that was occurring with their spouse. SGT Sheeran met with the resident and discussed options to remedy the situation.

Suspicious Event 16-007346 600 Block Hillcrest Drive, SW August 27 2:20 p.m. MPO Nelson met with a citizen who was concerned for the welfare of his son. MPO Nelson found no indication the son was in any immediate danger.

Fraud 16-007349 100 Block Center Street, North August 27 1:42 p.m. A resident reported someone made fraudulent withdrawals from their bank account.

Domestic Dispute 16-007363 Fardale Street, SE August 27 6:17 p.m. Officers responded to the listed area for a domestic dispute between husband and wife. When they arrived on scene they spoke with both parties who told the officers the dispute was verbal. Officers did not observe any signs of physical violence. The husband and wife agreed to stay separated for the remainder of the evening. Both parties were provided with counseling services.

Missing Person 16-007376 300 Block Old Courthouse Road, NE August 28 7:56 a.m. MPO Vazquez took a report about a missing elderly male subject. Officers searched the area and found the subject at a business.

Grand Larceny 16-007381 1400 Block Cottage Street, SW Between August 26 at 11:30 p.m. and August 27 at 7:00 a.m. A resident called to report two bicycles left unsecured on their front porch were stolen.

Civil 16-007390 500 Block Windover Avenue, NW August 28 1:21 p.m. Ofc. Sterling responded to the listed area for a civil dispute between a homeowner and contractor about payment for work. They were both made aware of the civil process through the court system.

Suspicious Event 16-007396 Vienna Police Department 215 Center Street, South A citizen called to report an alleged assault which occurred sometime in May.

Domestic Assault 16-007406 Cedar Lane, SE August 28 10:04 p.m. Officers responded to the listed area for a domestic assault between a male and female subject. PFC Tremont spoke with female subject who told him she got in to a physical altercation with the male subject. The male subject fled the area prior to the officers’ arrival. A domestic assault warrant was obtained for the male subject.

Arrest - Trespassing 16-007407 100 Block Patrick Street, SE August 29 1:05 a.m. A resident called to report a female subject whom was trespassed by Vienna Police Officers had returned. MPO Shaw went to the listed area and found the female subject was indeed trespassing. The 31 year old female subject from Campbell Drive, Fairfax was arrested for trespassing. She was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Police Service 16-007414 200 Block Cedar Lane, SE August 29 12:52 p.m.A citizen called to report their ex-husband was having a mental health emergency. SGT Elias and Ofc. Slebonick spoke with the ex-husband and found that he was in good health. He admitted to the officers he lied to his ex-wife in an attempt to gain more time with their children.

Property lost 16-007415 Colin Lane, NW August 29 1:00 p.m. A resident reported they lost their mini IPAD when they accidentally left it on the roof of their vehicle.

Animal Case - Quarantine 16-007417 Audreys Court, SE August 29 1:32 p.m. ACO Barker was informed by the health department of a male subject bitten on the hand by a friend’s dog. ACO Barker spoke with the owner of the dog and explained the quarantine process. The dog was placed in 10 day quarantine.

Civil 16-007420 100 Block Ayr Hill Avenue, NW August 29 2:54 p.m. MPO Lose responded to the listed area for a civil dispute between a landlord and tenant. The dispute was over the tenant moving out of the residence. Both subjects were explained the eviction process and informed the matter was civil.

Suspicious Event 16-007432 Wolftrap Hotel 430 Maple Avenue, West August 29 10:35 p.m. MPO Smith responded to the listed address for a suspicious event. A female subject advised she was mistreated by hotel staff. MPO Smith spoke with all parties involved and found no violations of law took place.

Welfare Check 16-007441 1400 Block Ross Drive, SW August 30 5:03 a.m. A citizen called to report they were concerned for the welfare of their daughter. Ofc. Reedy located the daughter and determined she was ok. She stated she was not in need of police assistance.

Grand Larceny 16-007444 200 Block Locust Street, SE Between August 25 at 11:00 a.m. and August 30 at 8:00 a.m. A resident reported their unsecured bicycle was stolen.

Animal Complaint 16-007451 Hope Center 140 Park Street, SE August 30 3:48 p.m. MPO Lose and ACO Barker responded to the listed address for an injured fawn. It was determined the fawn could not be saved and was euthanized.

Police Service 16-007452 Saratoga Way, NE August 30 5:23 a.m. A resident turned in an old pellet gun for destruction.

Fraud 16-007453 400 Block Windover Avenue, NW August 30 6:09 p.m. A resident reported their credit card was being fraudulently used.

Arrest – Drunk In Public 16-007454 Whole Foods 143 Maple Avenue, East August 30 7:31 p.m. A citizen called to report a male subject acting disorderly, yelling and cursing at people near the listed business. Ofc. Bulti and Ofc. Reedy found the male subject and while speaking with him observed signs of possible impairment. The 60 year old male subject from Oriole Avenue, Springfield was arrested for drunk in public. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Arrest – Mental Case 16-007458 INOVA Loudon Hospital 44045 Riverside Parkway August 30 10:01 p.m.
Vienna Police Department was contacted by the Loudon County Magistrates Office for a temporary detention order issued by them. The detention order was issued for a Vienna resident who was currently at the listed hospital. PFC Tracy and Ofc. Reedy responded to the hospital, executed the detention order, and then transported the female subject to INOVA Cornwall Behavioral Health Complex.

Arrest – Narcotics Violation 16-007462 Nutley Street and Courthouse Road, SW August 31 12:29 a.m.
Ofc. Bulti observed a vehicle make a traffic infraction. As he spoke with the driver of the vehicle he could smell an odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle denied there was marijuana in the vehicle. Ofc. Bulti searched the vehicle based upon the odor coming from within the vehicle and located suspected marijuana. The 26 year old female driver from Sunset Lane, Annandale was issued a summons for
possession of marijuana. She was released on her signature.

Assist Fire EMS 16-007465 Wolftrap Hotel430 Maple Avenue, West August 31 10:09 a.m. A citizen called to state they were having a mental health emergency. Officers assisted Fairfax County Fire & EMS and the female subject agreed to be transported to the hospital. Fairfax County EMS transported her to INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Police Service 16-007475 Women’s Center 133 Park Street, NE August 31 4:24 p.m. Officers responded to the listed address for a female subject experiencing a mental health emergency. When officers arrived they were advised by a citizen the female subject was at a nearby business. MPO Nelson found the female subject and determined she was not experiencing a mental health emergency, she stated she was just having a bad day.

Arrest – Mental Case 16-007490 1200 Block Cottage Street, SWSeptember 1 10:30 a.m. Officers were requested to assist with a male subject experiencing a mental health emergency. When officers arrived they found the subject was in need of mental health services. The subject was taken in to custody and transported to the Merrifield Center.
