Veterans Day 2025 In Vienna: See Planned Commemorations

VIENNA, VA — Veterans Day, a federal holiday, is a time to honor those who have served in the U.S. military on Tuesday, Nov. 11. In the days leading up to the holiday, community groups in Vienna will hold commemorations and other programs.

Here's a roundup of what's planned for Veterans Day in Vienna:

Vienna Presbyterian Church's Veterans Day Luncheon: Nov. 8

The returning luncheon is a free event for veterans, their spouses, partners and caregivers at 11 a.m. on Nov. 8. The keynote speaker will be Elizabeth Rotenberry from the The Elizabeth Dole Foundation to highlight the critical role of caregivers for wounded veterans.

Rotenberry is a military caregiver for her husband, a wounded U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. As an Elizabeth Dole Fellow alumna, Rotenberry advocates for herself and her family as well as all military and caregivers for veterans. She joined the foundation as the caregiver community program coordinator, was program manager of the Dole Caregiver Fellowship, and is now the foundation's director of caregiver engagement.

The award-winning Cathedral Brass ensemble will provide a music concert of patriotic music. Guests are encouraged to bring a picture for a slide show honoring their service and sacrifice.

Vienna Moose Lodge Veterans Day Turkey Fry: Nov. 8

Veterans can attend this turkey fry for free with a military ID or VA card, but it is also open to the public. Admission for others is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 in advance ($15 for adults and $10 for kids at the door). Attendees are encouraged to bring a potluck side or dessert. There will be live music at the event.

American Legion Post 180 Veterans Day Celebration: Nov: 11

The annual Veterans Day ceremony will take place at American Legion Post 180 Patriot Hall at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11.
