Vienna Woods Looking to Dominate at the Annual CrossTown ThrowDown Tournament

The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27.

As the Summer winds down, it is just starting to heat up between the Vienna pools. The CrossTown ThrowDown Corn Hole Tournament between three of the Vienna area swim clubs, Cardinal Hill, Dunn Loring and Vienna Woods, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 27. This is the third year of the event, and serious competition is expected once again to take home the tournament cup.

This year’s Vienna Woods team is stronger than ever and it will be hard to upset them.

“We are a talented young team”, states the Vienna Woods’s coach. “We expect Dunn Loring to bring in younger players to try to beat us and look forward to either their old or new team members.”

The Dunn Loring coach realizes he has his work cut out for him to upset Vienna Woods. It is difficult to devise a game plan to beat such a strong Vienna Woods team. Practicing once a week since the start of the summer still might not be enough to win the tournament.

The Cardinal Hill coach also looks to have her team retain their second place finish last year. With Dunn Loring so focused on trying to beat Vienna Woods, that might allow Cardinal Hill the opportunity to again sneak out second at the end of tournament play.

This is an event of Olympic proportions for the Vienna swim clubs and Vienna Woods is favored to bring gold home once again.
