Vienna Youth Players to Debut Rendition of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

The production's debut takes place Friday, Aug. 5.

From the Town of Vienna:

Director Babs Dyer and her merry band of Vienna Youth Players (VYP) are shaking up tradition in their latest musical undertaking, Jesus Christ Superstar. The VYP is ditching the sandals and robes of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera classic in favor of modern-day attire. The early August performances also will feature hip hop, tap, jazz and ballet choreographies.

“We wanted to retool and look for a new angle on a title that’s been done for over 30 years,” says Dyer. “We think the audience will be delightfully surprised to see new tricks in an older show.”
