Vienna Church Organizes Prom For People With Special Needs, Volunteers Sought
The third annual Be Our Guest Prom makes guests with developmental differences feel like kings and queens for an evening.

VIENNA, VA — Guests with special needs will have a night to remember with dinner, dancing, karaoke and more entertainment during a Vienna church's returning prom. The third annual Be Our Guest Prom will be held at Vienna Presbyterian Church on May 16, and volunteers are needed to make it possible.
The church offers the complimentary prom for people with developmental differences ages 14 and up, their buddies and parents or caregivers. From 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests and buddies will enjoy dinner, dancing, custom caricatures, tattoos, glitter hair, a jewelry box for bedazzling, and karaoke. Parents and caregivers can stay for a complimentary catered dinner. The church is estimating that 70 guests with special needs will attend.
According to the church, the community has provided support for the event through the One Neighborhood Foundation, the Vienna Business Association, and small businesses. The church is also seeking volunteers to be student buddies for the 70 special needs guests. Student buddies will get service hours and help provide a memorable experience for the guests.
