Friday: Vienna's Chillin' on Church: One Last Chance to Enjoy Summer
Come enjoy food trucks, music, games for kids and more.
VIENNA, VA -- The Town of Vienna is offering one last chance to “chill” street party-style this summer at its Chillin’ on Church event Friday, Sept. 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Area residents are invited to come enjoy food trucks, beverages, music by Chump Change and field games for children.
In addition, the Town will hold a ceremony and tree planting at about 7:15 p.m. in celebration of the Town’s recent recognition by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat.
The American Legion Post 180 will have beer and barbeque for sale; guests may also purchase food from an assortment of food truck vendors. Chump Change will perform on stage and there will be various field games for children on the Freeman House lawn and Town Green.

“It’s nice to bring a block party right to the center of Vienna,” says Parks and Recreation Director Leslie Herman, who adds that the Town hopes to offer additional Chillin’ on Church events next year. “This is a low-key event designed to allow folks to meet up with friends and neighbors to just chill and really enjoy a fun, relaxing evening.”
The evening also will include a celebration of the Town’s recent designation by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat. The certification ceremony will take place at about 7:15 p.m. on the stage set up on Church Street, to be followed by the planting of a native Virginia tree at the Town Green with NWF’s Ranger Rick mascot.
