The thousand‐foot slide travels the country all summer giving residents a break from the heat. Event organizers say they are excited to stop in Tysons for the first time. “This unique event was a huge success last year, but for 2016 we are going to be adding new locations to our schedule along with some fun entertainment to give it more of a community feel,” said John Malfatto, Slide the City co‐owner. “You can experience your hometown like never before!”
This massive event is better than the average block party, according to the organizers. Families, friends and neighbors are invited to take a break from the heat, speeding through three city blocks on inner tubes. Along with the one‐of‐a-kind slide, the block party will include food, music, local vendors and street entertainers. Sliding starts at 9 a.m.
Online registration is now open at: slidethecity.com/location/tysons. Participants can purchase a single, triple, ultimate or all-day slider pass during a selected wave time and are encouraged to sign up to take advantage of the current rate. Tickets are now $40 or $45 the day of the event.
