This nonprofit is tackling poverty and homelessness in Winchester through a homeless shelter, food distribution and other services to meet basic needs. Through their Christian faith, the group believes in helping people in need. In 2022, Winchester Rescue Mission said it moved 66 people out of homelessness.

2. The Arc of Northern Shenandoah Valley
This organization provides support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Winchester and surrounding counties. Along with being an advocacy organization, it runs an Educational Empowerment Center to help families navigate the special education process and helps them through other systems people with disabilities typically go through.
