- A second missing woman, Angel Fuller, has been found safe after the Winchester Police Department shared information about her case. However, law enforcement is still searching for Nanci Britner, a 45-year-old Winchester woman who has been missing since Jun. 28. Britner's family members are concerned as it is unlike her to be gone for an extended period without informing anyone, and the police are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding her whereabouts.
- The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond has once again halted construction on a disputed natural gas pipeline running through Virginia and West Virginia, even after Congress mandated its approval. The stay comes in response to environmentalists' arguments that the congressional legislation infringes upon the separation of powers outlined in the Constitution. The court's decision focuses on a three-mile section of the pipeline that traverses the Jefferson National Forest, with environmentalists expressing concerns about potential erosion and the subsequent degradation of soil and water quality. - In case you missed it: Gov. Glenn Youngkin appointed highly qualified individuals to key positions and boards in Virginia, aiming to improve the state's quality of life. The diverse appointments span education, agriculture, finance, health, transportation, and veterans and defense affairs. These decisions reflect the governor's commitment to expertise and excellence in shaping Virginia's future. (Governor of Virginia)
