Here are the top three stories today in Winchester:
- Winchester police and firefighters responded to a vehicle accident on Friday, May 19, that occurred on South Pleasant Valley Road. According to reports, a motorcycle and a second vehicle collided near Hollingsworth Drive, resulting in severe injuries to the motorcyclist, who was identified as a male. He was admitted to the ICU for emergency care. As of May 21, the incident is still under investigation. (Local Accident Reports)
- On Saturday, May 20, Shenandoah University had its commencement ceremony for its graduating class. Four huge video screens live-streamed the event as more than 1,000 graduates accepted degrees in subjects ranging from biology to virtual reality design. Of the 127 local graduates, 66 are from Winchester. (Subscription: Winchester Star)
