12-Year-Old Brings Knife To School In Woodbridge: Police

A 12-year-old was charged after school staff found a knife in his backpack on Wednesday.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A 12-year-old student was charged for bringing a knife to a school Wednesday in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

On Wednesday, a school resource officer was notified about a student with a knife at Rippon Middle School the day before. Police say school staff found the knife in the student's backpack and alerted the school resource officer.

There were no known threats made to students or staff. The 12-year-old boy from Woodbridge was charged with possession of a weapon on school property.

Death Investigation: On October 30 at 1:36PM, officers responded to the 14700 block of Telegraph Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a death. The investigation revealed the skeletal remains of an individual, presumed to be an adult, were found inside a tent in a wooded area near the above location. The remains were transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to confirm the identity of the deceased and determine the cause of death. At this time, there is no threat to the community concerning the death. More information will be released as necessary.

Death Investigation: On October 30 at 6:58PM, officers responded to the 4100 block of Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a death. The investigation revealed family members located the body of a loved one, identified as a 43-year-old man, outside of a building in the above area. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. At this time, there is no threat to the community concerning the death. More information will be released as necessary.

Armed Robbery: On October 31 at 8:22PM, officers responded to the 13500 block of Bently Cir in
Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 15-year old male juvenile, was with two other acquaintances when they were approached by a group of male juveniles wearing dark-colored clothing and masks. During the encounter, a physical assault occurred before one of the juveniles brandished what was believed to be a real firearm under his clothing towards the victim and demanded his property. The parties dispersed and the armed suspect dropped the weapon which was later determined to be a BB gun. No injuries were reported. The suspects took candy.
