2 Suspects Arrested In Dale City Killing Of Woman In Car With Her Dog

Prince William County Police have arrested and charged two suspects sought in the fatal shooting of a woman in her vehicle with her dog.

DALE CITY, VA — The fatal shooting of a woman in a car with her dog has led to two recent suspect arrests, Prince William County Police say.

The homicide happened on Feb. 2 in the area of Bronson Court and Brickwood Drive in Dale City. Police say the victim was found with gunshot wounds inside her vehicle when police arrived around 2:07 a.m. on Feb. 2. Fire and rescue pronounced the victim dead on the scene, and she was identified as Egypt Zapporah Carter, 23, of Burlington, North Carolina. An investigation found the homicide was a murder for hire.

A small mixed-breed dog inside the vehicle was found uninjured. Police turned the dog over to animal control.

Police identified the suspect who fatally shot the victim as Drew Courtney Buchanan, 27, of Woodbridge. Buchanan was located in the Manassas area and arrested on Oct. 15. He was charged with second-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and is being held without bond.

Police identified a second suspect who was present with Buchanan — Denzel Scott Wade, 30, of Woodbridge. Wade was arrested on Tuesday in the Manassas area and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
