Sept. 11 Fire Engine to Arrive at Americans in Wartime Museum Tomorrow

A fire engine that responded to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, will become part of the permanent collection at the Americans in Wartime Museum in Woodbridge. 

The engine arrives in Prince William County on Thursday, and local officials will hold a commemmoration ceremony at Connaughton Community Plaza at County Complex Court in Woodbridge at 3 p.m.

The crew of six firefighters that staffed the engine all died on Sept. 11, and the engine was one of four recovered by the FDNY. The engine will join other Sept. 11 artifacts at the museum.

The event is free and open to the public.
