Bizarre Home Invasion Nets Arrests In Woodbridge: Police

Two people have been arrested for their roles in a bizarre incident that included pawn shops, squatting and burglary in Woodbridge: police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—Two people have been arrested for their roles in a bizarre incident that included pawn shops, squatting and burglary in the 5300 block of Qualey Place, according to Prince William County Police.

Kelly Lynn Wald, 41, of the 5600 block of Roundtree Drive in Woodbridge, was charged with obtaining money by false pretenses and sale of stolen property. Christopher Steven Doering, 31, of the same address, was charged with burglary.

On Feb. 6, police began investigating a reported burglary on Qualey Place. They were told that between Dec. 27 and Feb. 5, someone broke in through the rear sliding door and appeared to have been staying at the home for an unknown amount of time. When the homeowner or caretaker entered the home Feb. 5, an unknown person fled.

Police also were told household items were missing and damage to the property had occurred. Personal items apparently belonging to the unknown person were found at the scene. Following an investigation, police determined the stolen items had been pawned, leading to Wald's Feb. 18 arrest and the Feb. 25 arrest of Doering.
