Comcast Outage Hits Phone Service in D.C. Area, Nationwide

Comcast customers seem to be experiencing outages across the country Tuesday.

Several telephone service customers reported experiencing outages via Twitter, and received a response from the Comcast customer service account that a timeline for a resolution was not known.

"If you're currently having issues making and receiving calls, National engineering is actively working to resolve this issue," according to a Comcast message to business customers regarding the outage.

Service tracking website downdetector.com notes Washington, D.C., area customers are among those impacted.
