Fatal Shooting Of Teen At Woodbridge Pool Results In Conviction

Prosecutors say a 17-year-old died in a shooting in the parking lot of a community pool.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man has been convicted of an August 2023 killing outside a community pool in Woodbridge, according to the Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney's office.

A jury found Jordan Sickels, 23, guilty of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and robbery resulting in death. The charges stemmed from a shooting on Aug. 12, 2023, which killed Roberto Martinez Inglis, 17.

"My heart goes out to the family and friends of Roberto Martinez Ingis, the 17-year-old who was murdered by the Defendant," said Commonwealth's Attorney Amy Ashworth. "While this verdict is an important step in holding the Defendant accountable, it does nothing to alleviate the pain of losing a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. Now that the trial is over, we will focus on getting a sentence that is fair and just."
