WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man was arrested Thursday after assaulting a woman and preventing her from leaving a home in the 3300 block of Bronson Court, according to Prince William County Police. Eric Joseph Byrd, 24, of the aforementioned area, was charged with abduction and domestic assault and battery.Shortly after 10 p.m., officers went to the residence for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, they saw Byrd restraining the 23-year-old woman as she attempted to escape. Police found that Byrd and the woman had been in an argument that escalated, during which he assaulted her, pinned her to the ground and prevented her from leaving before being interrupted by police.<hr />Photo: Prince William County Police
