Driver In Woodbridge Hit-And-Run Of Cop Car Arrested In GA

Prince William County Police say a man wanted for hitting a cop car with a stolen vehicle was arrested in Georgia.

UPDATE: On Thursday, the suspect Timothy Damon Rutherford, 18, was arrested in Bulloch County, Georgia and will be extradited to Prince William County.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County Police have located the suspect in a hit-and-run of a police vehicle in Woodbridge earlier in February.

Officers had stopped a stolen vehicle around 9 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the 1400 block of Admiral Drive. According to police, the driver reversed the vehicle and struck the occupied cop car before fleeing. There were no injuries.

Two female juveniles had fled from the vehicle on foot, and Occoquan Police detained them and released them to known parties.

Police obtained warrants for the driver, Timothy Damon Rutherford, 18, of no fixed address, on one count of felony hit and run, one count of grand larceny, one count of obstruction of justice, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Felony Child Neglect: On February 21 at 3:40PM, officers responded to Walmart located at 17041 Richmond Hwy. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an unattended child. The investigation revealed the accused left her 2-year-old son unattended inside her vehicle while she shopped inside the store. Officers responded to the parking lot when a Good Samaritan observed the child inside the vehicle unsupervised. While investigating the incident, the accused returned to the vehicle. When officers attempted to detain the accused, she briefly resisted before being detained without further incident. The child did not appear injured and was released to the custody of known parties. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Tasha Michelle Osei-Asibey, was arrested.

Indecent Exposure: On February 22 at 9:43AM, officers responded to the intersection of Richmond Hwy. and American Eagle Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an indecent exposure. The investigation revealed an unknown man exited a dark-colored older model SUV before he walked behind a tree where he then exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures. No physical contact occurred, and the suspect left prior to police arriving in the area. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, with a top bun, last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and jeans.

Attempted Residential Burglary: On February 23 at 6:41PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16900 block of Monmouth Ct. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between January 13 and February 23, entry was attempted into the home through a window that was found tampered with. No entry was made into the home, and no property was reported missing.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm: On February 24 at 12:38AM, officers responded to the area of Oakwood Dr. near Dulcinea Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed multiple shots were fired into the air from a dark-colored sedan that left the area. No injuries or property damage were reported.
