STAFFORD, VA—A drunk Triangle man was arrested Wednesday after flipping his pickup, injuring one of his passengers and destroying a sign in the 3900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Gerson Alexis Aguilar Matozo, 20, of Triangle, was charged with DUI maiming, DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain control, underage possession of alcohol and drinking while driving.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., police arrived at the scene for reported single-vehicle crash and found "the remnants" of a pickup truck that had rolled over and destroyed a sign. A witness told a deputy he had seen the truck swerving and the driver throw a beer bottle out the window.

When the deputy made contact with the occupants, who weren't wearing seat belts, he immediately smelled alcohol on the breath of Matozo. One of the passengers, a 24-year-old Triangle man, had multiple cuts on his forehead. Matozo wasn't injured. All three were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
