Fire Broke out at Woodbridge Home Overnight

Multiple units called to the scene, Fire Marshal also called in.

Update 7:55 a.m.: Last night's fire at 3000 Marisa Court has been deemed accidental, said Prince William County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief & Deputy Fire Marshal Joe Robertson.

Units proceeded to the second floor and discovered the fire had extended to the roof. Firefighters attacked the fire and were able to suppress and extinguish the fire with no further extension to the home, said a press release issued about the fire.

One adult sustained a minor injury trying to put out the fire and two adults have been displaced from the home. Damage to the home is estimated around $200,000 and the building developer posted the house as unsafe last night.

The fire started in the second floor bedroom and the home had working smoke dectectors that sounded.

Update 1:30 a.m.: Fire and rescue units have put out the fire and are dealing with clean-up at the residence.

Update 1 a.m.
: Fire at the residence is under control and several rescue units are no longer at the scene.

The family has been displaced because of the fire. Investigation into the fire continues this morning.

A home in the 3000 block of Marisa Court in Woodbridge broke out in flames at midnight on Monday.

Prince William County Battalion Chief & Deputy Fire Marshal Joe Robertson said that the fire started through the roof. Multiple units are on the scene fighting the fire at this time; including apparatus from Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton and Dale City Volunteer Fire Departments.

At 12:39 a.m., fire and rescue units had completed opening up the second floor of the home and saw no physical signs of fire in the residence.
