Fugitive Arrested For Assaulting Woman In Woodbridge: Police
A man wanted for strangling a woman more than a year ago in Woodbridge was arrested by U.S. Marshals Thursday in Tampa, Fla.: PWC Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man wanted for strangling a woman more than a year ago in Woodbridge was arrested by U.S. Marshals Thursday in Tampa, Fla., according to Prince William County Police. Pedro Burgos Mejia, 26, of the 3600 block of Elm Farm Road in Woodbridge, was charged with strangulation, abduction, malicious wounding, domestic assault and battery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He's awaiting extradition back to Virginia.
On Nov. 19 in 2017, police says Mejia assaulted a 24-year-old female acquaintance in the 13600 block of Greenwood Drive and placed a knife to her throat before putting his hands around her throat. He finally fled in a vehicle that had been taken from the owner without permission, and police had been looking for him ever since.
