Heat Advisory: Thursday Heat Index to Reach 100-105 Degrees

Forecast calls for Thursday's weather to feel like 100 degrees or more.

With more hot weather in the forecast, Thursday is a day best spent inside at the movies, a museum, the bowling alley, the library or any other place you can think of that's cool and air-conditioned.

The National Weather Service has issued a continued heat advisory for Thursday until 10 p.m. Temperatures will soar to the upper 90s but the heat index will make it feel like it's anywhere from 100 to 105 degrees.

Overnight, the temperatures are expected to stay in the 80s for suburban areas.

"A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected," said an NWS alert. "The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors."

If you have to be outside, try to be out in the early morning or in the evening to avoid heat stroke.
