'If You Lived Here' Occoquan, Lorton Episode To Premiere On Nov. 11

OCCOQUAN, VA — Occoquan and its northern neighbor Lorton take the spotlight during an episode of a PBS affiliate's show airing Monday.

The premiere of the Occoquan/Lorton episode of WETA's "If You Lived Here" will be aired on Monday at 8 p.m. "If You Lived Here" is a 30-minute show highlighting real estate properties at different price points, as well as history, culture, notable places, and flavors of the community.

The Occoquan/Lorton episode looks at three different homes with a local realtor. It also provides background on local landmarks, including the Workhouse Art Center and the Town of Occoquan. Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta Jr. appears to discuss the town's history, which dates back to the Doeg Native Americans and the first house being built in 1758 by John Ballendine.

Other communities featured on this season of "If You Lived Here" are Burke, Fairfax and South Arlington in Virginia; Cleveland Park, Hill East, Woodridge/Langdon, and Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C.; and College Park, Gaithersburg, Frederick, and Ellicott City in Maryland.

This season on "If You Lived Here," Jennifer (Jen) Osborn and Ricardo Frederick Evans took over hosting from former Emmy-winning hosts Christine Louise and the late John Begeny, who died in 2023 after a cancer battle. Osbourn, a DC area resident since 2011, starred in Netflix's House of Cards as Robin Wright's assistant and has performed with regional theater companies and starred in short films. Evans, who grew up in DC's Hillcrest neighborhood and was a licensed real estate agent, is an instructor at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and has been part of films and theater productions.

The show will be aired on the WETA station and will be available online following the premiere.
