WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man was arrested after swerving through traffic with cocaine in his wallet and two children in his vehicle Monday night on Jefferson Davis Highway near River Ridge Boulevard, according to Prince William County Police. Jose Tomas Galdamez-Martinez, 34, of no fixed address, was charged with felony child neglect or abuse, driving under the influence, unreasonable refusal, felony eluding and possession of a scheduled I or II narcotic.
Shortly after 9:45 p.m., an officer on routine patrol in the aforementioned area spotted a vehicle swerving in and out of the right lane. The driver ignored the officer's attempts to pull him over and instead continued onto Dumfries Road before stopping near the Interstate 95 interchange.
When police approached Galdamez-Martinez, they determined he was impaired before finding a small bag of cocaine in his wallet. Two girls, both family members, 14 and 10, were found in the backseat. They were released to the custody of a family member who was in the vehicle.
