July 4 Gunshots In Woodbridge Confirmed By Police, No Injuries Reported

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Around July 4, it's not uncommon to mistake fireworks for gunshots. Over the holiday, one report in Woodbridge turned out to be shots fired.

Around 10:25 p.m. on July 4, police responded to a gunshots call at Lancaster Mill Park in the 13800 block of Pop Moubry Place in Woodbridge. An investigation found multiple gunshots came from a vehicle seen leaving the parking lot and heading south on Pop Moubry Place.

Police found shell casings in the road. There were no reported injuries or property damage. However, police found an unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot with guns and drug paraphernalia inside.

Residential Burglary: On July 6 at 4:23PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Sherbrooke Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed the homeowner located an unknown man inside his home. The homeowner followed the suspect outside where another unknown man was waiting by a fence. Both suspects then left the area. Officers and a police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. Entry was made into the home through the rear door which was found unsecured. No property was reported missing.
