Killings Of 2 Woodbridge Men Leads To 60-Year Prison Sentence

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The 2022 killings of two men from Woodbridge have led to a 60-year prison sentence for a man.

Anthony Perkins was sentenced in Prince William County Circuit Court to 70 years with 10 years suspended. Perkins will have probation for an indefinite time after his release, according to the Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney.

On June 14, a jury had found Perkins guilty on two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and gang participation involving a juvenile. Three days later, the jury had recommended the 70-year prison sentence.

The victims, Malik Davis and Christian Roberts, had been found dead in Davis's Woodbridge apartment on May 15, 2022. According to prosecutors, Perkins told two juveniles interested in joining a street gang that they would need to do a criminal act before being let in. When the two juveniles attended a party hosted by one of the victims, Perkins asked them to confirm if the victim was part of an enemy gang.

When the juveniles confirmed the victim was in a rival gang, Perkins said killing the victim would get them into the gang. Prosecutors say the juveniles shot a second victim because they thought he had a gun and would fire back.

"Mr. Perkins is an adult who used his influence as a gang member to direct the murder of an individual at the hands of two juveniles," Commonwealth's Attorney Amy Ashworth said in a previous news release. "This ultimately ended with the senseless deaths of two men. So many lives have been affected by this criminal behavior."
