Update: Nov. 3, 1:38 p.m. Gar-Field High School has been placed in a secure-the-building mode.
"This is precautionary and all students and staff are safe. School activities inside the school classrooms continue. All students and staff have been brought inside the school building. When the police department gives the “all clear" for the school, an announcement will be made through E-News."

Update: Nov. 3, 12:53 p.m. Police have convened in the wooded area between Foulger Square shopping area, Smoketown Station and Catons Hill Road in response to the shooting.
Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that the victim and the shooter were in an altercation when the shooter allegedly shot the victim in the upper body.

Police responded to the area at 11:20 a.m. Thursday.

No lookout information is available for the shooter, but it is not believed to be a random act.
One adult male victim has been flown out for an upper body gunshot wound after a shooting occured in the homeless camp behind Home Depot Thursday.
Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that the injury appears to be non-life threatening and that the the victim and the shooter apparently knew one another.
Perok said to the best of his knowledge, the schools were not on lockdown as a result of the shooting. The shops at Foulger Square are still open and there is no threat to the public, Perok said.
Perok did not have a description of the shooter, but did say that they know who they are looking for.
