Occoquan Fall Arts & Crafts Show Returns With 300 Vendors, Beer Garden, More

An estimated 300 or more vendors, food, beer garden, children's art projects and more are planned at Occoquan's large fall festival.

OCCOQUAN, VA — Hundreds of makers and even more attendees will descend upon Occoquan for its popular Fall Arts & Crafts Show as September wraps up.

The 2024 Fall Arts & Crafts Show is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Town of Occoquan.

An estimated 300 or more artists and community organizations will serve as vendors. Artists from around the region will offer handmade artisan goods, from fine arts to pottery and other forms of art. Shoppers have a chance to meet artists, discuss their work and see live demonstrations of their crafting.

One aspect of the show geared toward younger audiences is the Imagination Alley. Some of the art activities planned for children are art projects with recycled supplies at the Art Bar, a spin art machine, sensory table, bead bar for bracelet, phone charm and key chain making (for a fee), face painting with Fairy Jennabelle (for a fee), junior entrepreneurs, community art project and more. Attendees can meet alpacas at the corner of Ellicott and Commerce Streets and learn about the sustainability of alpaca wool.

River Mill Park overlooking the Occoquan River will host more entertainment with seating. A beer garden will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. during both days, and live music will run from 12 p.m .to 4 p.m. both days. A special license for the festival allows adults 21 and older to sip and stroll within the festival limits. Attendees can visit a participating business and request a takeout alcoholic beverage. Food trucks and food vendors will also be present at the festival.

Attendees can see a map of parking restrictions during the Fall Arts & Crafts Show. Parking during the event is encouraged at the Lake Ridge Commuter Lot (corner of Old Bridge and Minnieville Roads in Lake Ridge, VA), Route 123 Commuter Lot (corner of Rt. 123 and Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge, VA) or Workhouse Arts Center (9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton, VA). Shuttles are available from these locations when attendees buy a shuttle pass.

Be sure to check the weather forecast and updates from event organizers before you go. The current forecast for Occoquan shows a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday with partly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. Sunday's forecast anticipates a chance of showers after 2 p.m., with a 30 percent chance of rain.
