Occoquan, Lorton To Appear On PBS Affiliate's 'If You Lived Here'

OCCOQUAN, VA — Occoquan and its northern neighbor Lorton will be featured on a local PBS affiliate's house hunting series this season.

PBS affiliate WETA will bring back its "If You Lived Here" for a fourth season, spotlighting 12 neighborhoods in the national capital area. One of these will be an Occoquan/Lorton episode.

"If You Lived Here" has 30-minute episodes showcasing real estate properties at different price points, as well as history, culture, notable places, and flavors of the community. While the Occoquan/Lorton episode details are not yet available, some notable sites in the area are the Occoquan restaurants, shops and waterfront, Lorton's Workhouse Arts Center, Occoquan Regional Park and more.

This season, Jennifer (Jen) Osborn and Ricardo Frederick Evans will take over hosting from former Emmy-winning hosts Christine Louise and the late John Begeny, who died in 2023 after a cancer battle. Osbourn, a DC area resident since 2011, starred in Netflix's House of Cards as Robin Wright's assistant and has performed with regional theater companies and starred in short films. Evans, who grew up in DC's Hillcrest neighborhood and was a licensed real estate agent, is an instructor at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and has been part of films and theater productions.

The season will premiere at 9 p.m. on Oct. 28 with a focus on Burke, Virginia. Five other episodes will be broadcast at 9 p.m. on Mondays on WETA PBS and 8 p.m. on WETA Metro, from Oct. 28 through Nov. 9. Six more episodes will follow in early 2025. An airing date for the Occoquan/Lorton episode has not yet been announced.

Other communities featured in season 4 will be Fairfax and South Arlington in Virginia; Cleveland Park, Hill East, Woodridge/Langdon, and Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C.; and College Park, Gaithersburg, Frederick, and Ellicott City in Maryland.

After broadcast premieres, streaming of episodes will be available on the PBS app and at weta.org.
