Police Blotter: $10,000 Worth of Damage Done at Woodbridge High School

Prince William County police reports for the past week.

Burglary to a School
Police responded to on Saturday to find that sometime between 1:25 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., two unknown individuals, possibly juveniles, were seen on surveillance, inside the school setting off fire extinguishers, dumping liquids on the floor, gluing coins to locks on doors and other various acts of vandalism. Damage was estimated around $10,000.

Shotgun brandished at Waters Edge

A Newport News man is charged with three counts of brandishing a firearm following an argument at Waters Edge.

The victims, both security guards from Stafford and Woodbridge, told police that Justin O’Brian Jones, 22, was involved in an argument and brandished a shotgun.

Police said that Jones never pointed the shotgun at or threatened anyone with the shotgun. Both security guards detained Jones until police arrived.

Jones was released on personal recognizance. 

Reckless handling of a firearm

Police responded to the 1800 block of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge for shooting into an occupied dwelling call. Homeowner reported to police that a single bullet came through the ceiling of his apartment and exited through the floor. The investigation revealed that the accused, in the above apartment, had accidently discharged a handgun. No injuries were reported. 

Tabian Dijon Johnson 22, of Woodbridge, is charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
