Police Blotter: Woman's Purse Stolen, Townhome Community Reports Shots

Burglary into woman’s home
Police are on the lookout for a man wearing a black ski mask who allegedly broke into a 64-year-old woman’s home at the 2000 block of Horizon Court on Sunday.
The woman told police that she was sitting in her living room with the sliding glass door open when she heard the screen slide open an unknown man entered.

According to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok, the man displayed a handgun and demanded money. A struggle ensued and the man struck the woman on the head with a handgun, he then grabbed her purse and fled the area. The purse was empty at the time.
Perok said an investigation continues but that police are looking for a black male between 20 and 25-years-old and is six-feet-tall. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, dark pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

Crime Solvers case for shooting into an occupied dwelling
Police are looking for information regarding two shootings into homes this past weekend in the same area.
First, police responded to the 2100 block of Silversmith Court, near Porter Elementary School, on Saturday at 2:40 a.m. when a homeowner told police that he was upstairs when he heard what he believed to be gunshots. He found a shattered kitchen window after inspecting his house.
At 8:30 a.m. police returned to the same block for a shooting in the dwelling. That homeowner told police gunshots were heard between 2 and 2:30 a.m. that morning and in the daylight, discovered several holes in the side of the house, but police said no projectiles entered the residences.
In both cases, there were no injuries.

Police Identify Burned Corpse
Over the weekend, police identified the burned corpse found in a Bayvue Apartment dumpster in March as Erica Dawn Maynor, 25, of West Virginia.
