Seal The Deal Event Offers Weddings, Vow Renewals In Occoquan

OCCOQUAN, VA — Couples looking for a more courthouse-style wedding or vow renewal have the chance to make it special in the waterfront Occoquan community.

Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk Jacqueline Smith will host a "Seal the Deal" event for civil celebrant weddings and vow renewals in partnership with the Town of Occoquan. It will be held Friday, Dec. 13 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Occoquan Town Hall (314 Mill Street, Occoquan, VA). Normally, courthouse wedding ceremonies are performed at the Prince William County Courthouse in Manassas.

"The 'Seal the Deal' occasion intends to be an afternoon of elegant courthouse-style ceremonies, allowing couples to exchange vows in the cozy ambiance of the Occoquan Town Hall," a news rleease from the clerk of court's office reads. "The event is designed to bring together couples and the community in a celebration of love and unity."

The Town of Occoquan provides a riverfront setting, with nearly 100 small and family-owned businesses nearby. After weddings or vow renewals, couples are encouraged to attend the Town of Occoquan's Firelight Night, which runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 13 at 413 Mill Street. The event will have fire pits, beer, wine, cocktails, hot drinks, s'mores kits, and snacks available for purchase.

Couples getting married must complete a marriage license application. Licenses are typically valid for 60 days upon being issued.
