Woodbridge Teens Charged For Magic Mushroom Candy Bars Sold At School

Prince William County Police have charged two teens in connection to candy bars containing hallucinogenic mushrooms sold at school.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two Woodbridge teens are facing charges connected to selling candy bars containing hallucinogenic mushrooms at Hylton High School, according to Prince William County Police.

Around 12:06 p.m. on Feb. 19, Hylton High School's school resource officer was notified about two students distributing the candy bars on school grounds. Police said an investigation found two students sold candy bars suspected of containing psilocybin mushrooms, commonly known as magic mushrooms, to another student on Feb. 14. A parent had discovered their student had the hallucinogenic mushroom-containing candy bars and notified the school.

Police believe the two students brought the candy bars to school to provide them to other students. On Wednesday, police charged a 17-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Juveniles charged with crimes are not publicly identified due to their age.
