Service Authority Wins Award

• From Prince William County government: 

The Prince William County Service Authority’s earned aGold Peak Performance Award for the H. L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (AWRF). The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) gave the H. L. Mooney AWRF their Gold Peak Performance Award honoring 100 percent compliance with environmental regulatory permit limit requirements at the Facility.  

During the calendar year 2010, the H. L. Mooney AWRF reported zero violations on monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports. The permit limits imposed on AWRF’s discharging to the tidal portion of the Potomac River in Virginia are among the most stringent in the country.

“The Prince William County Service Authority is an outstanding example of environmental efforts.   NACWA is honored to showcase the achievements of the Prince William County Service Authority and our nation’s public wastewater utilities through the Peak Performance Awards Program,” said Ken Kirk, NACWA’s Executive Director.

Service Authority General Manager Dean E. Dickey said, “The NACWA award is testament to our customers that the Service Authority takes our responsibility and commitment to environmental stewardship very seriously.”
