Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Dale City under Severe Thunderstorm Watch

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Prince William County and Northern Virginia until 9 p.m. this evening. 

Dale City, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Occoquan (zip codes 22191, 22192, 22193, 22194, 22195) are under the broad watch. 

The National Weather Service forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms likely after 4 p.m. today. Thunderstorms have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rainfalls this afternoon and evening, NWS said.

Rainfall amount are expected to be within a tenth and a quarter of an inch; higher amounts are possible in areas affected by thunderstorms.
