Single-Vehicle Crash On Prince William Parkway Kills Driver

A single-vehicle crash on the Prince William Parkway early Thursday is believed to be linked to a medical emergency.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A driver died in a single-vehicle crash in the Woodbridge/Dale City area early Thursday, according to Prince William County Police.

Police responded around 1:25 a.m. Thursday to the Prince William Parkway near Minnieville Road. A police investigation found a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer heading south on Prince William Pkwy crossed over the grassy median and into the opposite travel lanes. The vehicle left the road, went up an embankment and struck a tree.

Police believe the driver had a medical emergency. The driver, Adrian Aurel Utupan, 64, of Woodbridge, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other people in the car.
