Father, Dog Killed In Lake Ridge Shooting, Son Charged: Police
The suspect's father and a family dog were killed in a shooting at a home in Lake Ridge, according to Prince William County Police.
LAKE RIDGE, VA — A son was charged with his father's murder in a shooting that also killed the family dog early Monday in Lake Ridge, Prince William County Police say.
Police had responded to a relative's report of the shooting around 2:39 a.m. Monday to the 2500 block of Paxton Street in Lake Ridge. Officers found the suspect, Christopher Tyler Rose, 29, and detained him at the scene.
Police believe the suspect shot and killed his father, identified as Brian Christopher Rose, 56, and a 1-year-od Labrador Retriever dog during an altercation. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are actively investigating to determine what led to the shooting. Rose has been charged with murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and felony animal cruelty.
