Teen Charged With Attempted Abduction In Woodbridge: Police Report

An attempted abduction and burglar stopped by a homeowner speaking on a home camera were among the weekend incidents reported to police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County Police responded to several notable incidents over the weekend in the eastern county, including an abduction attempt and a burglary thwarted by a home security camera.

The attempted abduction happened around 12:24 p.m. Sunday in the area of Blackburn Road and Delaware Drive. Police say the suspect followed a 21-year-old woman walking along Blackburn Road and grabbed the victim from behind. The suspect assaulted the victim and tried to drag her into a wooded area.

A passing driver stopped to help, and the parties separated. The victim flagged down an officer, who detained the suspect. The victim had minor injuries.

The suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile boy, was arrested and charged with abduction with intent to defile, attempted rape, assault & battery, and public intoxication. The boy is being held at the juvenile detention center.

Assault & Battery: On November 7, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Freedom High School located at 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22191) began an investigation into an assault by a school staff member against a student that reportedly occurred on October 8. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old female student, was on a bus in the parking lot of the school when she encountered a school security officer, identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused pinched the victim’s cheek while he engaged in an inappropriate conversation. No injuries were reported. The incident recently came to the attention of school officials who notified the police. Following the investigation, the SRO obtained a summons for the accused, identified as Pedro S. Chirino, of Dumfries who was served on November 8, charged with assault & battery.

Brandishing of a Firearm: On November 8 at 2:58PM, officers responded to the area of Richmond Hwy and the Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 34-year-old man, was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a black Dodge Ram while both vehicles were traveling in the above area. During the encounter, the other driver reportedly brandished a firearm before the vehicles separated. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. Officers are following up on the incident into the identity of the other driver involved.

Attempted Residential Burglary: On November 9 at 1:02PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1500 block of Dorthy Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police an unknown man was observed on home surveillance attempting to enter the home through a rear door. The suspect left the area when the homeowner spoke to him via the home camera. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing. The suspect left towards the area of Blackburn Rd and Colchester Rd. The suspect was last seen wearing a checkered jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, tan beanie, blue jeans, brown cowboy boots, and green work-style gloves.
