
From Friday, April 15, to Thursday, April 21, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has scheduled work for the I-95 Widening and I-95 HOV/HOT Lanes projects. Motorists will experience the following impacts:
- Friday night, April 15, midnight until 3 a.m. Monday, April 18 the HOV lanes will close from Washington D.C. to Dumfries (Route 234).
- Saturday, April 16, at 5 p.m., the HOV lanes will reopen northbound from Edsall Road to Washington, D.C. All HOV lanes will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday morning.
- The I-95 HOV lanes from Dumfries to the Newington area will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday – Wednesday nights, April 18-20. During this time, the HOV lanes are open from Springfield area north to Washington D.C.
- I-95 north from Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) to Exit 161, Richmond Hwy. (Route 1) will close intermittently for up to 30 minutes at a time after midnight Sunday – Wednesday nights, April 17-20.
