VRE Will Operate Full Service Monday
After canceling trains on Friday, the system is back up.

Virginia Rail Express will be operating full service on Monday, Sept. 12. In an e-mail, April Maguiad from VRE said that they are not expecting significant delays but have special messages for both lines.
Fredericksburg Line:
CSX has been working around the clock since Thursday night on several areas of track that had been damaged by flooding. All tracks are now open; however, several temporary speed restrictions along the route are in effect. Similar to after working on the railroad as part of preventative maintenance, these slow orders will be in place until the track settles. This may take several days. Even so, we expect any delays that we experience to be minimal.

Manassas Line:
Norfolk Southern has also been working around the clock since Thursday night to repair parts of their tracks that were damaged. There is still a short section of one of the tracks that is out of service. Because of this, our trains will be single tracking between Burke Centre, Rolling Road and Backlick Road on the track furthest from the station.

Riders will need to use the pedestrian crossing to access the train. Please remain on the platform until the conductors have indicated that it is safe to cross. While there may be no revenue train traffic, there still may be some work trains in the area.
