What You Need to Know Today: Monday Edition

A few things you should know as you start your week.

Budget Hearings: The Prince William Board of County Supervisors will hold two budget public hearings this week on Monday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:30 p.m. The pubic is invited to give input on the proposed FY2012 Budget.

Redistricting Hearings: Two alternative redistricting maps are available for review and comment at www.pwcgov.org/redistricting. One shows possible boundaries for maintaining seven districts, while the other depicts an eight district configuration. Provide comments at the Public Hearing on April 5, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the James J. McCoart Administration Building. Or e-mail comments to redistricting@pwcgov.org

Bike to Work Day: Friday, May 20, 2011, is Bike to Work Day in Prince William County and the entire Washington Metropolitan Region.  Commuters are encouraged to ride their bike to work as part of National Bike Month.  To register for Bike to Work Day, visit www.waba.org/events.  Pit stops are located throughout the County in the following locations:  Haymarket Bicycles, Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center, the Manassas VRE Station, the Kelly Leadership Center, Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Rippon Lodge VRE Station.  Each pit stop will offer a local mix of food, drinks, entertainment, dynamic speakers and chances to win bicycles and other prizes.
