Woodbridge Crime: Assault on LEO, Burglaries

A Woodbridge woman has been charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic assault and battery and resisting arrest after a family incident on Sunday. 

A 56-year-old Woodbridge woman called police and said she and a known family member were in a verbal altercation that allegedly escalated.

During the encounter, the accused, a 32-year-old Woodbridge woman, allegedly struck the victim several times in the face, police public information officer Jonathan Perok said. 

“As offiers were attempting to arrest the accused, she became combative and attempted to pull away from officers. At one point, the accused kneed an officer in the leg area,” said Perok. 

The victim sustained minor injuries and the officer was not hurt.

The 32-year-old Woodbridge woman’s court day was unavailable and she is being held on a $3,500 secured bond. 

Other incidents reported: 

14100 block of Renegade Ct. Homeowner reported that burglary occurred between 10 p.m. on June 9 and 1:30 a.m. on June 10. A gaming console and related games valued around $500 were reported missing. No force entry was made into the house, but the burglar is believed to have entered through an unlocked window.

11700 block of Cottonmill Dr. Homeowner reported that burglary occurred between 7 p.m. on June 9 and 12:06 a.m. June 10. A laptop and an empty gun safe, valued around $560 were reported missing. Burglar is believed to have entered through an unsecured door.

4700 block of Korvett Dr. Homeowner reported that burglary occurred between 4:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. on June 8. A gaming console, safe and other items, valued around $360, were reported missing. Burglar is believed to have come through an unsecured rear sliding glass door.

14700 block of Darbydale Ave. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. on June 6. Miscellaneous items valued around $1,000 were reported missing; entry could have been made through an unsecured rear sliding glass door.
