Woodbridge Grandmother Charged with Abducting Grandson
Brenda Counts, 65, of Woodbridge, was arrested Friday for allegedly kidnapping her 8-year-old grandson following a planned visit.

An 8-year-old Prince William County boy who was reportedly abducted by his grandmother Thursday has been found safe and sound.
Brenda Counts, 65, of Woodbridge, was charged with abduction after allegedly kidnapping her 8-year-old grandson, Caleb Brock, around 5:49 a.m. Thursday. Authorities were told by a family member that Brock had not been returned to them after visiting his grandmother at the 4300 block of Evergreen Drive in Woodbridge.
Officer Jonathan Perok said Counts failed to return Brock even after she was “informed to do so.” Police checked Counts’ residence, but neither she nor Caleb was there.

Perok said the family member, who reported Brock’s disappearance, had originally granted permission for Counts’ visit, but obtained a warrant against Counts in connection with the incident.
Police received a tip around 2:30 Friday morning that Counts may have driven Brock in a dark-colored Subaru Outback station wagon to another family member’s Alta Vista residence located at the 3500 block of Buffalo Court. Both Counts and Brock were found at the residence.
