Woodbridge Man Identified As Suspect In Fatal DUI Crash In Nokesville
A Woodbridge man is wanted after his blood alcohol content was found above the legal limit in a fatal crash.

NOKESVILLE, VA — Prince William County Police are seeking a Woodbridge driver in DUI-related charges in a fatal Nokesville crash in late August.
Police obtained arrest warrants for James Francis Byrd, 62, of Woodbridge for the Aug. 28 crash that killed a Nokesville man. A police investigation determined Byrd had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit on the day of the crash. Police did not believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The crash happened around 6:24 p.m. on Aug. 28 on Bristow Road near Windy Hill Drive in Nokesville. Police say a 2021 Toyota Tundra heading east on Bristow Road crossed over the center lane and into the westbound lane, striking a 2003 Lexus GX head on.
The crash impact caused the Lexus to spin off the roadway and end up in a ditch, while the Tundra remained on the roadway. Byrd, the driver of the 2021 Toyota Tundra, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The Lexus driver was taken to the hospital and died of injuries. The Lexus driver was identified as Thomas Spencer Stark, 63, of Nokesville.

Byrd is wanted on charges of involuntary manslaughter - DUI related and DUI. He is described as a 62-year-old Black man around 6 foot 3 and 230 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
