Eastbound I-90 Reopens After 30-Vehicle Crash Near Kittitas
Officials expected eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 would remain closed into Wednesday evening to clear all the vehicles and debris.
KITTITAS COUNTY, WA — State troopers closed eastbound Interstate 90 near Kittitas Wednesday morning after crashes involving at least 18 cars and a dozen semi-trucks, according to Washington State Patrol. The closure was the second major incident this week along the cross-state corridor, following a 15-car crash with injuries near Easton on Sunday.
Officials estimated Wednesday's crashes would keep eastbound lanes shuttered into the evening as crews worked to clear vehicles and considerable debris from the roadway. Photos shared from the crash scene showed rolled semi trucks with cargo strewn across the lanes.
WSP, DOT, and tow operators are currently working on clearing the road. I will update when we get a better timeline for reopening. -Trooper Cumaravel. pic.twitter.com/8vCIHUv313
